This fun mini project would make a great gift for anyone, fill it with with heartfelt messages or lots of little pictures! It would make a fabulous Grandma's bragging book! Gemma Hynes has used products from the Downton Abbey collection. We no longer have these in stock but we do know you all love to have inspiration for the dies you have in your crafty stash! Of course you can make this project using any of our embossing folders too!
Step 1 : To make the inside section of the card/mini photo book, cut a strip length ways from a sheet of A3 card measuring 10cm in height. Then score along the strip at 10cm intervals, this will give you 4 panels, and a small section at the end for a tab.
Step 2: To make the cover cut a piece of paper measuring 24cm x 10cm. Score this piece at 10cm, 1cm, 10 cm, and 1cm intervals. This will leave you with a 2cm that will act as the closure. Fold and burnish all the score lines, gluing the tab from the inside section to the back of the cover. Fold the book closed and glue a magnet into place to close the book.
Step 3: Using the largest of the Decorative Frames die set, cut 10 squares to cover all the inside panels. Using the next die in the set cut 1 square also cut 2 squares measuring 9cm x 9cm for the front and back of the covers. Cut 3 small strips of card to cover the other segments on the cover.
Step 4: Blend two different distress inks over the die cut card pieces, and the small strips then run all the pieces through the Fleur de Liz embossing folder. Using a third distress ink edge all the pieces.
Step 5: Using the third colour of distress ink chosen, apply it to the 9cm x 9cm square before running it through the embossing folder, this time de-bossing the card instead on embossing it.
Step 6: Glue all the panels into place on the card.
Step 7: Stamp out a word from the Wonder of Words set, after cutting the chosen word out edge it with ink. Using the same colour inks, but without blending them together apply some ink to card stock. Run the card through the embossing folder and die cut some flowers.
Step 8: Layer the flowers together, before gluing them and the word to the cover. Ensure when you glue the flowers into place that you do not glue or block the closure/opening of the book/card.
