Sheena's Faux Leather Technique

Image

When Sheena debuted her Faux Leather Technique on TV back in 2014, we were absolutely inundated with requests for more information on her demonstrations. The technique uses embossing folders, our Kraft card, Distress Ink pads and Spray & Shine to create a gorgeous effect that can be used to create book covers, card features and more!

The technique also uses glycerin, which you can pick up from a local pharmacist. Some of our customers have reported some success using washing-up liquid as a substitute for the glycerin, but we've not verified this. If you give this a try, please do let us know if it worked!

Below you'll find a video demonstrating the basic technique, along with a second video showing you how to put a book together once you've created the cover. You'll also find links to relevant products - the technique will work with any embossing folder.

We'd love to see the projects you create using this technique - please email your pictures to website@crafterscompanion.co.uk!

What you'll need

Although Sheena's technique was designed for her range of embossing folders (some of which we've linked below), it'll work with any embossing folder - we've linked to a few collections on the right. If you have any questions about the things you'll need, please email our customer services team.
