Popcorn Platinum Project

by Meg at Crafter's Companion

Hi everyone! Did you manage to catch Sara on Create and Craft earlier? The Popcorn Platinum range has proven so popular since we launched it in early July, so I'm not surprised the triple disc set sold out during the show! One of the features of the CD that everyone loves is the Frame Card. I thought I'd come on here and post a project designed by one of our talented DT members - Nicola Jolliffe - of a Get Well Soon frame card, from the Floral and Kids CD from the Popcorn Platinum range.

You will need:
Print out your desired frame project on to light weight card.

Before cutting the frame out, score all the dotted score lines using a ruler and scoring tool. Cut out all the sections from the ‘frame front’ page, including the centre rectangle and diagonal dotted lines in the four corners as well as your desired base frame option. Spray all the images with silver Spray & Sparkle.

Crease all the scored lines and bend round to form the frame box shape. Using wet glue, fold in the corner tabs and glue. Attach a piece of double-sided tape to hold the frame sides together, while gluing to the base.

Run a line of glue gel on the underside flaps and attach the frame base to the frame front and leave to dry.

Using wet glue, attach the side panels to the correct sides of the frame. Cut out all the decoupage and curve slightly with a scoring tool. Using glue gel, build up the decoupage inside the frame. The frame is now ready to be attached to a card blank.

Print a sheet of Co-ordinating Paper design two from the CD and spray with silver Spray & Sparkle. Print a sentiment from the Accessories section of the CD, and cut out the blank medallion from the sheet. Spray the sentiment with Spray & Sparkle. Print a page of co-ordinating tea bag squares and make into a rosette, finished with a matching brad. Using Stick & Stay, mount your square piece of backing paper onto an 8x8 square card blank.

Using glue gel, attach the frame to the card, mount the sentiment and finish by adding the teabag rosette, which has been mounted onto the blank medallion.
Now wouldn't that card give you an instant lift if you were feeling poorly?
Take care and happy crafting!
Meg xx
