Tut7a
Good morning,  today we have the first in a new regular feature on the Crafter's Companion News and Inspiration Blog, Sara, Leann and the Crafter's Companion DT want to help new crafters and pros to learn something new or enhance their knowledge of Stamping, Decoupage, CD Crafting in fact anything to do with cardmaking or scrapbooking.  The DT are really looking forward to sharing Tutorials, Tricks and Tips on a regular basis.  Please feel free to leave a comment about what tutorials you would like to see on this blog and if you have any questions we will do our best to give you an answer.

To start of we have Jacquis tips on making a very quick Easel Card using elements from the fabulous Crafter's Companion Beatrix Potter Winter Cardmaking Kit.
Tut7

All the elements on this card except for the Martha Stewart Snowflakes are from the Winter Cardmaking Kit and is so quick and easy to make, I started with 2 of the fabulous square card blanks,

Tut

The plain blue card is used for the base of the easel card and has been scored and folded 3” from the edge.  The second card has been cut in half and one of the halves is used for the Back of the easel card, from the spare card cut a rectangle  2.1/2” x 3”, attach a self adhesive Tag to a piece of white card and cut around the Tag leaving a little edge of white card showing all around.

Tut5

Apply glitter as desired to the back image and set aside to dry.

tut2

Apply thin extra strong double sided tape around the rectangle making sure that the Tag will be able to slip inside

tut3

Attach the rectangle to the bottom of the easel card back as shown above, add ribbon to your tag and slip into the holder

tut6
Now decorate the base of your card as desired with elements from the Kit.

Finally add decoupage to the illustrated card and attach to the base as shown, add snowflake and gems and voila a very quick but effective easel card.

Hope you enjoyed this tutoprial and don’t forget to check back for more hints, tips and tutorials.
