Who likes painting? More importantly who has tried painting before?! I loved art at school but I would never describe myself as an artist so when I first saw the Sheena Douglass Paint Fusion range I have to be honest with you and say that I thought I would never be able to achieve great results as it looked really technical...how wrong could I be?!!
If you've never heard of Paint Fusion before I will explain what it's all about really briefly for you. It takes the style of folk art painting that you see on barges and traditional gypsy caravans but gives it a modern twist by combining it with stamped images. It's not about getting the blending right or mixing up loads of different colours or taking hours working on your shading - you simply load up your paint brush a certain way and away you go!
Crafter's Companion designer, Ann, was completely new to this technique too so she thought she'd try it out to see how she got on. She produced a beautiful daisy card using the Paint Fusion products and technique and I wanted to share with you the finished masterpiece!
Ann started by stamping her images from the Daisy Stamp Set onto cardstock. The acrylic paint used was White and Tide Pool. To create the card she simply used her special Royal and Langnickel brushes and just duplicated everything that she learned on the instructional DVD from Sheena Douglass. What do you think? Not bad for a newbie right???
