Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day everyone! I've had a lovely weekend (and very crafty one at that) as my sister Helen has been up visiting so we've been celebrating Mother's Day all weekend!

I started on Friday evening after work - I finished off my mothers day cards. I say cards, because I had 3 to do! My mum, Simon's mum, and my nana.

I'd already made my mums card a few weeks ago. I wanted to use the SWALK Mummy Stamp because its one of my favourites

And I fancied doing a circular easel card for a change. Of course I had to make my matching envelobox as well (in fact, if you were watching my shows in Germamy this week you'll have seen I took this card and envelobox over with me) - I love it when things match, and I'm pretty sure my mum will be keeping the envelope as well as the card!

Then for Simon's mums card, I used the Fairyopolis Spring Stamp Set and papers from the Fairyopolis CD Rom

And finally for my Nana's card, I really wanted to use the SWALK Groovy Granny stamp.

Then after I'd finished the cards, (and it was getting on my this point) I wanted to make something in the way of jewellery as a present for them. I needed something quick, and as I'd only though of it last minute, I had to make something with what I had in my beady stash!

Then I remembered about the new projects that Sarah had uploaded to the Beader's Companion Website and I remember seeing one that used the Shell Beads (and I LOVE these beads so I've got loads of oddments left over in different colours from when I've made other things) and the project teachers you how to make them into a lovely flower shape (you can click here to see the project but you need to log into the members section first)

So I made up one of these necklaces each for my mum and Simon's Mum...

So that was my Friday night...! I had a nice lie in on Saturday then on the afternoon, Helen and I took my mum and nana for lunch in Newcastle and for a look round the shops.

We had a lovely afternoon, and then we came back and Helen and I started cooking dinner and we had both sets of parents round for dinner.

Simon's Mum loved her card, and present and flowers (and she was wearing the necklace I made for her birthday last November!)

And so did our mum...

And we finished off the evening with a home made cake that Helen baked... Perfect end to a perfect day!

I hope everyone reading this had a wonderful Mother's day weekend too!

And now I'm relaxing with my feet up ready for a stupidly busy week ahead! I'm setting off for Peterborough on Tuesday morning as we've got a Pick of the Day launching on Tuesday evening and I've got LOADS of shows. Then I'm staying down through Wednesday evening as I've got a couple of more shows on Thursday morning before driving over to the NEC ready for 4 busy days at the Hobbycrafts show.

I hope to see some of you there! Sara xxx
