Well, seen as I was soooooo last minute and only just sneaked my entry in last month, I decided to be way more organised this month, so I made my May Challenge card last weekend!
The challenge this month was 'Here Comes Summer' so I decided to use the fab new Humphrey's Corner Stamps that we released last week, and I just love this one of little Lottie - it's called 'Swinging By' and she's just too cute for words!
I kept it really simple this month - the backing paper is from the Humphrey's Corner CD ROM printed onto Satin Finish Paper, and the swirl ribbons are from the new Humphrey CD (A Year of Humphrey). The little cream ribbon is from our Christmas Ribbons set (I think - they've got all mixed up in my ribbon drawer - you know when you just know you've got WAY too much ribbon for what any one person could ever need!?!) and I did the base card onto Centura Pearl Snow White, and matted with a bit of Core'dinations Cardstock.
I used my Spectrum Noir pens (I had a bit of an uber colouring session at the weekend!). I have to say - I sat and watched Leann's tutorial video's on the A Year of Humphrey recourse CD ROM to work out how to colour the elephant images best - even though I used a different colour pallet to what she uses in the disc, it was great to see where to put the light and shade effectively, as I really struggle with clothing.
These are the colours I used:
Lottie - IG1 IG2 Blender
Dress and Shoes - FS4, FS7, FS9 CR1
Swing - TN2 TN3 TN5
As always, (for the benefit of other colouring in learners!) if you're colouring with Spectrum Noir pens, then you'll get the best results if you use the Neenah Cardstock and stamp with a Memento Inkpad - (I used black)
For anyone who doesn't know, we run a monthly challenge over on our Challenge Blog where we set a new challenge each month, and all you need to do is make a card that fits the challenge, post a picture to your blog, or facebook page, and then leave your name and a link to see your card on the challenge blog and we choose a card at random to win a £30 gift voucher to spend on the Crafter's Companion Website!
So this is my entry - well, actually Jacqui has cottoned on to the fact that i've been entering, so now i'm not allowed to enter, and they've put me on the DT instead, but still, hopefully you found the card inspirational!
Bye for now! Sara xxx
