So, I had to share some pics and information with you from our Spectrum Noir classes that we held at the CHA show as part of their educational conference program...
We held classes on Friday and Sunday of the show and it was a 2 hour class hosted by our Director of Education over here in the US - Jennie Black.
Jennie has been with the company for almost a year now, and anyone who has taken any of her classes will know just what a phenomenal teacher (and colourist!) she is! She teaches classes using our Spectrum Noir pens all over North America, and also heads up our accreditation program. The classes we ran at CHA were the basic skills you would need to pass our accredited colourist scheme - if you're interested in finding out more about the scheme, then all the details are over on the Spectrum Noir website.
Of course Jennie wasn't alone in these classes, because she had the whole mob over from the UK to help! Here's our Leann during the Friday class keeping some folks on the right path... Everyone thought it was so exciting to have the actual person who developed the range attend the class in person!!
I believe this is Leann's 'diplomatic face' for basically saying 'I think you need to practice some more'! ;)
And of course I was on hand to help! (I didn't even know they were taking pics of me at this point!)
Then for the REALLY exciting stuff! As part of our accreditation program, we are looking to appoint a select few individuals to become 'accredited instructors' - and we've hand chosen some of the best ready-established teachers from across the globe (literally) and trained them in teaching with our system. (I'll be honest now and say I didn't make the cut ;( but i'm hoping one day my colouring is good enough!!). But we do now have folks in Canada, Columbia (South America), South Africa, Sweden, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and of course the UK and US working towards accredited teacher status, so watch this space for more info!!!
So much going on at CHA, and loads to report on! I'll be sure to keep you all posted!
