FrouFrou Sneak Peaks!

Evening all!

Well, i've had such a busy few days, that I only just remembered that we're allowed to show our 'sneak peaks' for FrouFrou now!! This is the brand new range that's launching on Create & Craft tomorrow evening as the headline product of their 2 million pound giveaway! Just us here at Crafter's Companion are giving away over £400,000 worth of product in our shows so you'll have to make sure you don't miss out!!!

Anyway, as i'm away this weekend, Leann is doing the launch, followed by some shows by Dawn and Louisa, so I won't get to show you any of my cards, but I was mad keen to get my grubby mits on the product, so I did some prep this weekend gone for the girls to help them out (as they have so many shows to prep for!), so here's what i'd been up to...

I used some Black Core'dinations from the Neutrals Core Essentials Pack, matted onto Pink Core'dinations from the Brights selection. Then of course ALL of the papers are from the CD ROM (aren't they just absolutely to DIE for as far as papers go!?!). I kept it really simple for the demo just using one of the toppers matted and layered - you'll find that the images are so quirky that you really don't need to do a lot to them to make your cards look FAB! Then I just HAD to have a go at these quilling flowers that Chivs is always on about so I've used the Sunflower  large with the Sunflower Small layered inside it - you wouldn't think it was sunflower-y at all done in pink wouldn't you?

Then I went a little different with the shape on this one - it's a card blank I like to do often (it's on the Ultimate Pro basic DVD if you've never done it before - I call it a Diamond Pop Forward card and it's really easy to make), then i've used the Black Core'dinations from the Neutrals Core Essentials Pack again, and then I used the Epiphany tool round 14 to create the embellishment...

To make it really elegant I set it into the metal settings pack we have too.

Then FINALLY I just HAD to get my hands on the stamps! This one is my absolute favorite from the collection! I also remembered one of the new Darice embossing folders which I knew would match perfectly! And wow, the image was so fun to colour! And then matched in with the papers on that CD (you're just going to drool when you see the papers on this CD - seriously!)

Anyway, hopefully this will have given you a flavor of what's coming up this weekend - you'll just absolutely LOVE this CD I know! I'm totally gutted that I won't be able to do any of the shows but I know the girls will do a great job! Let me know how they get on!!! I want all the juicy gossip!

Big Crafty Hugs! Sara xxx

These images are perfect for the ladies of `the not quite mature ages`- love the backgrounds on the C.D. too. Are there any designers/artists that paint Men in costume through the ages? Well done, everyone. I'll be watching!

I bought the CD because I loved the card samples on C&C, particularly the featured lady writing at her desk. (on the front cover of the disc box). When it arrived yesterday, I couldn't find that image - no sign of it in the Toppers section). So I phoned here for some advice. The following is what I wrote on one of my card forums last night:
Got onto crafters companion - the image featured on the outside of the CD (the reason I bought it) isn't in the topper section at all , the only place is on another sheet, where there are 13 images on the same A4 Sheet! Hardly topper proportions. There are two at 3in square, and one 2.25in x 3.25in, the others are all smaller.

That irritated me no end, so I took photos of the two main pics, put them into Picassa, lightened them up a bit, and printed them out a whole lot larger. I think this is sooo misleading, given all the examples that were shown on the C&C shows. Admittedly there was a rubber stamp of the image, but no way should I have to buy the rubber stamp when paying out for the CD - or do you all think I am being unreasonable?

Looking at what is on the CD, I have come to the conclusion that probably a lot of the finished card examples on the shows were derived from the stamps, not the CD.
