Update From Germany Shows and a Project

Hello all! I’m back from Germany and just taking some time to share some pics!  Dawn and I had an awesome time – it was super busy and we had loads of shows to prepare for and present!

These pictures here are from the last show we had at 10pm – we weren’t looking so bad given that we’d been up ages and were on the home straight!

I just have to say... how awesome were my ultimate samples!?! We had a huge pick of the day on the Ultimate and it absolutely flew! Everyone loved it!

I also was launching our Ulti bags and ulti boxes boards, and when I was prepping the shows, I was thinking that people always ask me for hints and tips on putting those together, so thought i’d take some pictures.

The first one I planned to demo was the little cube box, which would make an awesome favour box for a wedding or party...

I started with a sheet of the thick acetate and scored the full design – my tip here would be to use the very fine edge scoring tool and press really hard, then you get a nice crisp edge. If you find it’s difficult holding the acetate in place while you score, then you can spray the board with our Stick & Spray, but then you’ll need to use stick away to take the residue off both the board and the acetate afterwards.

Cut out the acetate (tip, use a really sharp pair of scissors) and fold and burnish the creases and it will start and fold into shape.

Very important here – use the really strong red liner tape if you’re sticking thick acetate, as you don’t want it falling apart later! Then I just embossed a few bits on cream card to give some colour...

The finished box looks great – especially with some titbits inside for a treat! (I didn’t have any sugared almonds in my pantry funnily enough, but I did find some mini-eggs left over from easter which looked almost the same with a bit of wrapping in – not that I’d recommend eating them, but it looked lovely on my show!!)

I’ll try and blog some of the other items I made with more tips too! Any special requests for info let me know!!

I loved the one colour purple display, with all the boxes etc. Everything showed to advantage, and the whole display said "WOW, just look at me".
    STUNNING!

Hi Sara, I would love to get a tutorial on the heart shaped box please, I have downloaded the pdf for the oval box tutorial but am not getting the heart shaped box correct. Any hints and tips in getting the perfert heart shaped box will be greatly appreciated.
I do have the ulti /box/bags template which I have purchased from Crafterscompanion.

Wow, Sara, that is the most stunning display, and to think you have given us all the tools to be able to make everything on show - or at least aspire to!! The all purple is very appealing. Thank you for sharing. take care, Maggie xxx
