November Member of the Month

We're so pleased to introduce you to our Member of the Month!  Say hello to Jan Roberts, from Kishorn in the Highlands.

I first started paper crafting while recovering from treatment for breast cancer and found myself with free time on my hands. At that time I was also looking after our little old rescue dog Minny who herself was ill with heart and lung disease. We would sit in my crafty room together quietly enjoying each other's company and me crafting. When Minny sadly died we found our new doggy via the RSPCA website - Button is a Yorkie who was part of a cruelty case prosecution. We drove a round trip of over 700 miles through snow and sleet to pick her up. Button has made my life complete again and with her help we are now able to, in turn, help the RSPCA through selling my cards. Some I send direct to them to sell in their shop, others my doggy groomer friend sells through her doggy salon and my sister in law sells them through the WI and her village shop. With some of the funds I like to purchase doggy items off their Amazon wish list, such as dog kongs and toys. Crafting with Button by my side is my favourite time of day.

Well done Jan, so many animals benefit from your crafting. Your picture of Button is so like my yorkie Freddie , who is my companion whilst crafting, he also loves his Dentistix ! Keep on enjoying your crafting,
    Lynne

Hi Jan, what a lovely and heartwarming story. If only there were more selfless people like you in this world, well the rest would be history.................... Button is such a cute little girl, I know as a dog adorer myself that I would be lost without my dog Dolly, I am disabled and she brings joy into my life every day. Take care and keep up the good work you two!

    Hugs Jan xxx
