After the huge success of series one of Be Creative I'm really excited to tell you that we have started filming series two! This second series is going to contain even more episodes; it's moving to a 10-part series, and because it's been so well received it's even going to include an hour-long special. Create & Craft have once again shown their support and will be sponsoring the series - to me they're the perfect fit for this programme as they cover so many different crafts on their channel, so it's great to have them on board again and for them to be so keen on supporting the education of crafts as well as spreading the word about how rewarding it is!
It's not just Create & Craft though that have seen what a great thing it is to have programmes dedicated to teaching various crafts - other TV stations have shown interest and will be starting to air it too, so it won't just be available through the Made TV network. In fact, I'm absolutely ecstatic as we've had confirmation that it's going to be going national, so everyone will be able to watch it! The Community Channel (available on Freeview - 63, Sky - 539, Virgin Media - 233 and Freesat - 651) liked what they saw and are going to start broadcasting it very soon... we'll be announcing the exact times once we know more information over on the Be Creative Facebook page, so if you haven't already, head over now and like the page to keep up to date with all the latest news! In the meantime though, if you're living in the Nottinghamshire area (which also covers down to Peterborough and across t parts of Lincolnshire!) then Notts TV have already started airing the first series. Again, head to the Be Creative Facebook page for full details!
Guess who's going to be appearing on the next series with me... my Mam! When we were researching what people wanted to see covered on Be Creative one thing that kept popping up was upcycling. Because our family business is a wallpaper and paint decorating store my Mam is quite a specialist in this area, so she's going to be my special expert guest on that episode! She's dead nervous but really excited at the same time - I know she'll be great though! She does the window displays that normally contains one of her many upcycled projects, so if you want to take a look at some of her creations head over to the shop's Facebook page.
There's going to be lots covered in the next series as well as upcycling, including cross-stitch, crochet, scrapbooking, colouring, polymer clay modelling, chocolate making, quilting and more. I can't wait for you to see them... in fact I'm going to share a sneaky pic of the quilting project that will be on the show!
