Tutorial: Poinsettia Diorama Card

It’s been a whirlwind couple of days since getting home from the states on Friday and I’m just about getting over the jet lag so wanted to put some time aside to share another project with you! If you've missed any of the tutorials I've shared so far for my Signature Collection, you can see them all by clicking here.

I really love to make these diorama cards as they fold flat to go in an envelope but will stand up to take pride of place on a mantle or card display! And adding just a touch of gilding wax makes it look so luxurious!

Here's what I used on this one:

And here is how I put it all together: BLOG_4 XMAS CARDS_024

Step 1: Trim two sheets of red Core'dinations 11" x 7", score each sheet 1" and 2" at each side, fold and burnish. Cut a square aperture into the centre of one piece of card, cut a frame to fit card front using your choice of the Festive Wonder downloadable digi-papers.

I chose the poinsettia pattern for this card but you could certainly try a different one to see how it looks! I designed this range so that everything would co-ordinate well together and allow you use whatever you wanted to personalise cards for the recipients!

Step 2: Cut a square of acetate to fit aperture, adhere in place.

Step 3: Die-cut and emboss five of each poinsettia petals using red card. Gently rub gold gilding wax over the petals. Die-cut five leaves using green card.

Step 4: Affix each petal to the acetate using 3D glue gel. This will enable manoeuvring of the petals until you`re happy where they are.

Step 5: Die-cut 'Merry Christmas' using gold mirri card and affix to the card front.

Step 6: Using Collall tacky glue, apply down each side of card, affix to other Core'dination card to finish diorama card.

See the whole Festive Wonder range here (it's all just been restocked!):
