This week we’re pleased to share a bit more about Design Team member Donna Mosley, who is part of of our International Inspiration design team! If you have missed any of the spotlights so far, see them all by clicking here.
Here is what Donna shared:
"I have always done something crafty from being a child. I have had a go at most things, paper craft, sewing, cross stitch, knitting, patchwork, quilting etc. I had a break from it a few years ago but then after my Grandson was born I decided to make a scrapbook of his baby photos. A small box of stash soon became a small spare room full of stash. I'm sure that has happened to most of us. Not long after that I started stamping and making cards. This was where I found my absolute favourite thing to do. Colouring! I can get lost colouring in for hours, it's so relaxing and so rewarding when you see what you've created. I now have a crafty little buddy sometimes in my craft room, my little Grandson Bradley. He's now 7 and loves to make things too. "
Card above coloured with Spectrum Noir markers: FS3, FS1, EB7, EB5, GB8, CG3, CG2, CG1, CR2, CR1 and pencils 89, 91, 102, 111, 120, 58, 91 & 92.
And she answered a few of our crafty questions here:
Do you have a project you would love to make but haven’t yet? I have plans to decorate my welsh dresser in my craftroom. I am going to stamp flowers, butterflies etc. then add lots of colour with my Spectrum Noir pens.
What is your favourite type of project to make? I love making 3d projects, gift boxes etc.
What type of project do you find most challenging? Grungy, distressed projects.
Do you have a favourite colour palette to use? My favourite colour palette is probably lilacs as it's my favourite colour.
What is your favourite Crafter’s Companion product? Spectrum Noir pencils, they are so versatile.
Which collection or stamp range from Crafter’s Companion is your favourite? Scruffy Little Kitten, they are all so adorable.
When you colour stamped images do you prefer to use Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, coloured pencils, or the Spectrum Aqua watercolour markers? I can't choose between them, I use both alcohol markers & pencils together as the effect is gorgeous but the watercolour markers give a much softer finished look and are so easy to use.
What would you love to learn to do/use? I really fancy having a go with Sheena's paint fusion products, just wish there were more hours in the day.
What’s your favourite card fold to use? My all time favourite is the good old basic square card.
What is the best crafty tip you’ve ever gotten? If you're not happy with something, leave it for a while and go back to it. Usually it's ok as it is.
Where do you look for inspiration and ideas? Blogs & Pinterest. I can get lost for ages looking through Pinterest boards
How often do you craft? At least 4 or 5 days a week, more if I can squeeze it in.
