This week we’re pleased to share a bit more about Design Team member Caroline Weir, who is part of of our Crafter's Companion design team! If you’ve missed any of the spotlights so far, see them all by clicking here.
"I'm Caroline and I live in the wonderful world of Newcastle upon Tyne. I have been crafting now for around 10 years - doesn't writing things like that make you feel old! I came home from working overseas as a holiday rep and I needed something to keep me occupied. I'd always been into arts/colouring so I went and bought some stamps, some ink some pens & the rest as they say is history!
I snowballed and starting buying EVERYTHING in sight, as we all do and then after posting some cards on Facebook one day I received a message from Leann asking if I'd like to be on the Crafter's Companion DT - I screamed jumped up and down a bit and quickly replied YES!!! And I've been there ever since, that was round about 4 years ago. I love being part of the Deesign Team, having some crafty friends to gossip with! And of course we get to have a sneak peak at all the wonderful things due to be released! When I am not crafting I am mainly at my day job (if you follow my blog you will often see me count down to days off!) and I have also been there the same amount of time - 10 years! I am a travel agent and along with crafting that is my next favourite thing in the world. I have been very lucky to travel to some amazing places so I am staying for at least another 10 as my bucket list is growing!! My favourite destination to date is Las Vegas!"
And Caroline answered a few of our crafty questions:
Which collection or stamp range from Crafter’s Companion is your favourite?
I have too many but if I had to pin it down to just one it would be Bebunni.
When you colour stamped images do you prefer to use Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, coloured pencils, or the Spectrum Aqua watercolour markers? I always colour with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, I tried others in the past but found it really hard to blend and to work out what colours went together. But when I used the Spectrum Noir it all made sense, I'm not the best but I enjoy it so much more using the Spectrum Noirs.
When you craft, are you neat and organised or chaotic and messy? I am chaotic & messy!
Where do you look for inspiration and ideas? Pinterest I can loose hours to this website. But it is fab! Also YouTube; I can get so many ideas and I love the tutorials on there.
How often do you craft? Like any other crafter if I have a spare five minutes lol. Normally on days off!!
