So, you might have seen some of the stories in the press recently that we’re moving our head offices! I had a press photoshoot done last week, so I wanted to share a couple of the pics to give you an insight into our new home!
Firstly, I have to say I’m absolutely devastated to be moving away from where we’ve been the last 10 years. For those of you who don’t know, we currently operate from Collingwood House in Coundon which is also home to our family business that my sister now runs (a Painting and Decorating Store). When I first setup the business 10 years ago my dad built me a little office in the corner of the shed, and as we’ve grown over the years we’ve just knocked through and through into more rooms and it’s like a rabbit warren here and we’re busting at the seams (and have been for a couple of years!)
We currently have 27 staff on site in Coundon, but our global workforce is almost 70 now – these are split over our nearby Warehouse in Spennymoor, our operation in North America (based just outside of LA in Santa Ana) and then a load of remote people spread across the UK, Europe and America.
The drive to move to a new Head Office has come from some big growth we’ve had in the past couple of years, and a number of exciting growth plans and opportunities we have on the horizon. Our North East Head Office is the hub of the business, housing Customer Service, Product Development, Marketing, Design, Sales and Finance and as the company grows globally this team will continue to grow here so we need the extra space to house everyone.
Our new Head Office will be able to hold up to 65 people on site – which we’re hoping is enough to last many many years to come! And it’s only 10 minutes down the road at Newton Aycliffe.
There’s exciting times ahead, lots to update you on and when we have a firm move-in date (which we’re anticipating as being some time in April) I’ll share more with you!
