Sneak Peeks at my next HSN shows!

I'm over in the US again, for shows on the HSN 24-hour craft day for March. I'll be taking loads of exciting products on air, including things from the Downtown Abbey papercrafting collection, my Floral Delight collection, our new AquaBlend pencils, and of course our Spectrum Noir alcohol pens.

The US design team has some incredibly talented members, and I commissioned a couple of them to make me some special projects using the alcohol pens to take on air with me!

The ones I'm showing you today are from Ginny Nemchek. Here's a little about her (from her bio on the US blog):

ginny bw
I'm Ginny Nemchak, and I live with my hubby and son in a small town on a dirt road out in the country and think that's the best place in the world to be. I've been crafting my entire life in some form or other...but have really found a passion in paper crafting. Anything from altered art to cards and gifts.

My crafting philosophy is more is better...more layers...more inks...more flowers....just more of everything!

I'm always up to learn a new technique or try a new medium. I'm excited to join this team and looking forward to working with such an amazing group of talented artists.

Ginny is really tremendous with mixed media, altering embellishments and the like, so I asked her to make me some cards that really highlighted with you could do to customise embellishments with the Spectrum Noir pens. Take a look at what she's made:

HSN card 1

On this one she coloured the flowers, ribbon and pearls with OR1, which looks so fab with the Vintage Christmas background paper she's used!  Her dragonfly was coloured with GB8 and OR1.... just two colours and it is brilliant!

HSN card 2

This card has loads of extras on it - the stamped flowers were coloured with LV1, LV2, LV3, LV4, PL2 and PL5. The flowers sticking up for the card (the fabric ones) she coloured with PL4 (and she did the ribbon, pearls, and chipboard corner bits  with this too). She used the new AquaBlend pencils on the fairy - such rich colour!

HSN card 3

After she coloured the flower with AquaBlend pencils on this card, she used CG2 on the clothespins and ribbon and then DG4 on the chipboard frame.

HSN card 4

Ginny coloured the Henna Mango stamp with CT2, CT3, OR1, CG1, and DG2, then did the ribbon with CT2. For the pearls she used CT2 and CT4 - it all comes together so well!

HSN card 5

And this one, which I'm pretty sure is my favourite, has the butterfly coloured with BG2, BG4 and BG5. She used BG1 and BG2 to do the flowers and ribbon, and t's just beyond lovely!

I'll be back tomorrow (late, as I'm on US time!) to show you some projects from Lori Barnett, who I also commissioned ot make some special projects. Lori's done a Spectrum Noir masterclass with us for the Crafter's Inspiration magazine (with Spectrum Aquas) and she's also on the SPectrum Noir design team. I can't wait to show yo what she's made (and I'll be demo'ing the technique she used on air on HSN Wednesday, too)!

What do you think - do you alter embellishments? I'd love to see !

Happy crafting,

Sara xx
