It is with a heavy heart that we announce our great friend and hugely talented Die'sire and Spectrum Noir Design Team member Sandie Gough sadly passed away yesterday. We've all been deeply saddened by the news but take comfort in the many amazing comments, status' and posts we have been reading in tribute to her. Many of you will have seen Sandie's work, followed her blog, re-created her tutorials and some of you were lucky to work with her! We loved your style, spirit, talent, passion for crafting and inspirational gusto! You will be missed by everybody. Our sincere and deepest condolences go out to Sandie's family. We are thinking of you at this most difficult time.
Our good friend Jo McKelvey who worked with Sandie for many years has provided such a special and touching tribute below. We hope many of you find comfort in her words and enjoy and celebrate Sandie's most impressive work below!
"It's rare in life that someone comes along and touches everyone they meet in the way in which Sandie did, whether face to face or through our many cyber friendships. Sandie touched everyone with her caring nature, her very witty humour and her amazing crafty talent. Sandie was a true inspiration and thought nothing of sharing this with the world, if she could help you in any way she would, if she could advise you she would, if she inspired you - she'd step back in disbelief that she was capable of doing so - her talent for crafts was purely genius, and it made her even more special not realising how amazing she was.
My inbox would light up with Sandie, we had a few deep and meaningful but most of our conversations would have in a "Normal" world had us carted off to the looney bin - we laughed hysterically for ages over a sharpener being delivered by dpd - it actually wasn't which in our world made it funnier.
Even when Sandie became ill, she still had everyone else at the forefront of her mind and not wanting to let anyone down - she never did and never could. I know I speak for so many when I say Sandie Gough you will truly be missed for so many different reasons but mostly for being my friend.
Sleep tight and keep some spaces free on the naughty step! - Jo McKelvey"
In April 2016, Sandie was our Tutorial of the Month! She created such amazing boxes using our Downton Abbey papercrafting range! You can follow her tutorial here! Sandie received such amazing comments regarding her tutorials....oh how handy and fabulous they were!
Sandy was such a talented designer! She had so many amazing ideas and was able to bring them to life and share her vision with everybody! She always thought outside the box to put her own creative spin on cards! Just look at how funky she made our traditional Downton Abbey range on this creation! You would never think to put these colours with that range....but Sandie did and it blew us away!
Being a big part of the Die'sire team...Sandie was always coming up with amazing creations...24/7! We couldn't thank her enough for helping us spread the crafty love and helping others feel inspired to pick up a pen, pencil, card or die and get creating! Just take a look at a handful of her designs below!
Furthermore, Sandie was SUCH a talented colourist and will be so missed by the Spectrum Noir team! If you'd like to give colouring a go in Sandie's memory..you can follow her amazing back to basics tutorial on blending to create these wonderful effects here!

We feel honored to have worked with you Sandie! We thought we'd leave you all with a few words from Sandie's blog which completely sums up her love for crafting!
"Crafting is definitely a passion...a busy day turns into a busy week and then Friday arrives :)
Weekends in a busy world for us are all about time together and that usually means walking in the woods and you got it crafting!
My head is full of more ideas than I can possibly finish but when I stand back from a completed project I think wow I did that, and that buzz doesn't get old :)"
Again, all of our heartfelt condolences go out to Sandie's family. We can't stress how much she will be missed!
Keep smiling everybody. Sending purple hugs to you all!
