Laine has provided the most beautiful tutorial for you to get started with your AquaBlend pencils! Create a delicate and pretty card for your card stash, suitable for many occasions.

Method:
Step 1
Using the Big Score board or Top Score board, score and then cut a sheet of Centura Pearl – Pastels to form a 6.5'' x 6.5'' mat. Score and cut a piece of Sheena Stamping card to measure 6'' x 6''. Using the Textures Elements – Rain folder, emboss the Sheena Stamping card. Apply the Indulgence Die to one edge of your embossed card and die cut your design. You can emboss your card before or after die cutting. Here I want the die cut embossing to be more prominent on the panel, so have embossed the card before cutting.

Step 2
Assemble the card base. For this project a shaped 7'' x 7'' shaped card base has been used. Apply the Centrura Pearl – Pastels mat to this using Collall Tacky Glue. Here a strip of lace has been added to the embossed stamping card panel with red liner tape. The embossed panel is glued to the top of the Pastels mat layer using the Tacky Glue.

Step3
Cut out the rubber stamp of your choice, and stick this to a Rock-a-Block mount using Stick and Spray Mounting Adhesive. Apply a clear embossing ink, stamp the image 3 times onto watercolour card, cover with white embossing powder and heat set the powder, using a heat gun.

Step 4
Start to apply watercolour pigment to the image. Here Crocus pigment from the Florals Colour set has been used. Gently wet a suitable sized paintbrush and with this remove a small amount of pigment from the nib of the pencil. Apply the pigment to the sections of flower you wish to colour, painting within the embossed lines. You can dilute and blend the pigment colour by applying further small amounts of water to the colouring, from the paintbrush.

Step 6

Here the cups of the flowers and alternate strips of the bee are coloured with Primrose. The same method has been used to apply the colour, using a small paintbrush to remove pigment from the pencil nib and laying this down gently, on the areas of the image you wish to colour.

Step 7
Using the Primaries Colour Set, colour the leaves with Bright Green and Parakeet. The Parakeet is a lighter shade. This has been used at the ends of the leaves and where light would hit the stem of the flower. Shades areas have been created with the use of Bright Green. The pigment is applied to the image with a paintbrush and using the same technique.

Step 8
The rest of busy bees strips have been highlighted with Ebony pigment from the Essentials Colour set. This was applied straight from the pencil nib to create bands of strong contrast colour. The wings were given a light wash of Ebony pigment using a damp paintbrush.

Step 9
Hyacinth pigment from the Florals set has been used to colour the edges of the flowers and further Crocus pigment can be added as required for further definition.

Step 10
Colour all three of the embossed images as shown. Fussy cut the images and shape using tweezers or bending slightly over the sides of small scissors to create depth and form.

Step 11
Attach the images to the die cut, embossed panel using Collall 3D glue. Cut and add the die cut sentiment to the front of the card. The project is now complete.
