Directions:

Step 1: Create a pretty piece of home décor with Moonstruck – Start by painting the front, back and sides of your MDF shape with chalk paint and leave to dry. TIP: To save paint just do the back and sides, and on the very edge of the front.

Step 2: Print a sheet of patterned paper from the Verity Rose Papercrafting CD-Rom. Draw around the shape with a small border on the front of the paper, then cut out. Glue the paper to the front of the MDF shape, and when dry trim off the excess. With a nail file use downward strokes to smooth off the edges, then with a piece of Cut & Dry foam sponge black distressing ink along the edges.

Step 3: With a stencil and glitter embossing paste add your design to the top section of your MDF shape. Using the Verity Rose lace die, cut a border from white card and attached it to a strip of lilac card then glue it across the front of the MDF shape, and trim off the excess.

Step 4: Stamp, colour and cut out the Moonstruck character and her accessories. Add glossy accents to the owl’s eyes and the pocket watch face, and glitter to the feather, flowers, and dress and leave to dry. The flower on her chair was stamped and cut out again and glued over the top of the original one, and then a small pearl was added to the centre.

Step 5: From black card die cut and emboss an ornate frame, 3 flourishes, 2 Lazy Daisy flowers, and 6 Floral Due flowers. Next glue the frame to the side of the MDF shape so it hangs off the edge and cut off the excess; then add a flourish to the top and bottom of it. Create a large flower by layering up the Daisy pieces and one of the Floral Duo flowers, and glue it in place inside the frame. Next add the rest of the Floral Duo flowers above and below the main flower. Add gems to the centres of all the flowers.

Step 6: To complete the project use foam tape to attach Moonstruck to the front and add the owl flat behind her, and tuck the pocket watch just underneath the large flower. To finish off fasten black ribbon to MDF shape so it can be hung up in your home.
