Inspirational Tutorial: Use your AquaTints for an emboss resist technique

We have a super tutorial for you today from Lisa Nowacki! She shows you step by step how to use your AquaTints with the emboss resist technique and create this stunning card! We just love how the butterflies stand out on the white card! You could use this card for so many occasions!

Step 1: Using the Flutter Away dies, cut 3 butterflies from water colour card.

Step 2: Mask off half of the largest butterfly, and using VersaMark (clear) ink, stamp the corner swirl stamp (from the Grunge Band set), positioning the corner of the stamp over the post it note in order for the swirls to stamp onto the wing.

Step 3: Cover the stamped area with white embossing powder and tap off the excess. Heat with a heat gun until the embossing powder melts into raised white lines. Repeat Step 2 and 3 for the other side of the butterfly. Using other background stamps from the Grunge Band set, repeat these steps for the two smaller butterflies.

Step 4: Using the pipettes included in the Spectrum Noir AquaTint set, place dots of the bright pink, orange and yellow inks on the craft mat. Pick small amounts of the ink up with a brush (also included in the AquaTint set), and paint onto the butterflies as required.  As you paint, the white embossed lines will ‘resist’ the ink, leaving the white patterns in your paint.

Step 5: Cut a 5.25” square piece of white linen textured card. Using the AquaTints pipette, add small drops of bright pink ink to the card. Either leave to dry, or you can speed up the drying process with the heat gun.

Step 6: Create a 6” square top fold card from white linen textured card. Take the square of card (from Step 5) and when dry, mat it onto a slightly larger piece of linen textured card. Fix into place on the card front.

Step 7: Stamp a greeting from the Beautiful Leaves stamp set as shown. Add enamel dots or other embellishments to the butterflies. Bend the wings out slightly, then adhere to the card front as shown, using a small amount of Collall 3D glue in the centre of each butterfly.

Here is a list for the supplies Lisa used to make this fabulous project, have fun making one too.
