Directions to create:
Step 1: Cut a piece of card measuring 5x7 then mark the score lines as above to guide cutting. Score a 3x5 rectangle centrally (one inch in all the way around). Position the piece of card landscape. Mark a line within the central rectangle at 3 1/4 and and one at 5 1/2 inches.
This will create the folding pop up mechanism.
Step 2: Cut a second piece of card measuring 4x6 1/2". This will create the pull to operate the sliding mechanism.
Step 3: Cut carefully around three sides of the rectangle marked on the folding pop up mechanism. Burnish the score lines firmly.
Step 4: Attach the tab of the folding pop up mechanism to the slider with a Crafter's Companion tape runner. Ensure that the folding pop up mechanism slides up and down easily.
Step 5: Attach the folding pop up slider mechanism to a base card which is slightly larger than the mechanism. Glue around three sides of the completed mechanism to attach it to the base card. Do not glue the top of the card where the slider pull is located. Test the slider to ensure that it moves smoothly on the front of the base card. The mechanism can be raised on foam pads to ensure smooth movement or glued flat to ensure tight movement.
