We're dreaming about Sheena Douglass' Latest Launch!

Are you as excited as we are for Sheena Douglass' launch on Hochanda tonight at 6pm? Check out this wonderful tutorial from Allison to see just what you can do with this stunning range!

To recreate this card, you will need!

  • 8x8” white card blank
  • Sheena, matt black & silver mirri card
  • Call of the Wild Dream catcher die and matching stamps
  • Glycerine
  • Black Soot and Picked Raspberry Distress ink pad
  • Blending Tool and pads
  • Versamark Inkpad, heat gun
  • Spectrum Aqua markers – Kingfisher, Peacock Blue & Heather
  • Clear and White embossing powder
  • Tacky glue and 3D Collal Gel

Follow this step-by-step

Cut a dream catcher out of matt black card and a second from silver mirri using Sheena’s Call of the Wild die. Then cut a 7 inch by 7 inch square of Sheena stamping card.

Next choose a light blue, a dark blue and a purple spectrum aqua marker, I used Kingfisher, Peacock Blue and Heather. Use a scrap of card to check the colours are the ones you want.

Squeeze a small drop of glycerine onto your glass mat (or acetate over sheet of white paper) and scribble a bit of the light blue aqua pen onto the mat. Pick up the glycerine with the blending tool and work it into the foam using circular motions and then pick up the light blue ink and work into the foam. Using circular motions apply the light blue ink onto your white Sheena card in a few places. Repeat with the purple and dark blue pens and dry your card.

Drop some water over your card by wetting a paint brush and tapping it over your card. Dab the water off with a paper towel and dry your card again with the heat tool.

Place your Dream catcher stamp onto your glass mat and ink up with versamark. Carefully position your black die cut over the inked up stamp and press down a section at a time to pick up the ink. Apply clear embossing powder and heat emboss.

Matt and layer the stamped sentiments onto silver mirri card. Apply a thin layer of tacky glue to the back of the black dream catcher and stick it over the silver one, offsetting it slightly. When the glue is dry, cut along the lines on the back, free up the feathers and add a little movement by raising some bits.

Pat an anti-static pad all over your coloured card, stamp the dream catcher over your background with versamark and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Stamp and heat emboss the two sentiment stamps in white on black card.

Apply pink distress ink around the edge of your background card using the blending tool, and again with black soot to make a vignette. You could use the black and pink aqua pens to get the same effect. Wipe off any excess ink with a paper towel.

Matt and layer your background with the black card leaving a thin 1/16” border and again with the silver mirri with a wider 1/8” border. Stick your background to an 8x8” white card (tacky glue gives you a bit of wiggle room for alignment).  Add your dream catcher and the sentiments to your card using 3D Collal gel.
