If you've been following our 12th Birthday Celebrations - and we're sure you have, you'll know that we have just launched new Ultimate Pro Boards- yay! To celebrate, here's a lovely little tutorial showing you how you can make your own cracker box using our new Festive Fancy Board!
Die’sire Create-A-Card – Winter Wonderland
Other – Ribbon, Glue Pen, Gold Glitter
Cut a sheet of A3 card to measure 26cm x 29cm. Line up the base of the card with the lower straight line on the Festive Fancies board and score the four sides of the cracker.
Move the card across the board, line up the score lines and score two more of the cracker sections to give you six sides.
Cut out the cracker and cut out the V shapes at the top. At the base cut up to the straight line on each section and create tabs as shown.
Score a border on one cracker panel using the board and cut out. Cut snowflake acetate to measure 4.5cm x 12.5cm and attach to the back of the panel with red liner tape. Fold and burnish all of the score lines.
Use a glue pen to add gold glitter to the edges of the window panel and the shaped top of the cracker. Apply Tacky glue to the side tabs and stick the box together.
Make a template for the base and lid. Cut a piece of card to measure 7.8cm x 9cm. Mark the 9cm edges at 2.2cm and 6.8cm, and mark the centre of the 7.8cm side. Join the marks together to create a hexagon and cut off the corners. Use the template to cut three piece of patterned card.
Glue the tabs at the base and glue one of the hexagons over the tabs. Glue another hexagon inside the box base.
Punch a hole in the centre of the last hexagon, add a ribbon loop and place in the top of the box.
Score a small tag using the board, cut out and add glitter to the edges and a ribbon loop.
Die-cut snowflakes from white glitter card and use to decorate the box. Tie ribbon around the top of the cracker box and add the tag to finish.
Fill with sweets and you've made a great little gift for a loved one this Christmas!
