How to Make the Card
Step 1: Create the Card Base
For the mats and layers, cut a piece of pink linen cardstock to 4⅝” x 6⅝” and a piece of white linen cardstock to 4½” x 6½”.
Layer the white piece on top of the pink panel and attach them. Then adhere this layered panel to your card blank.
Step 2: Die-Cut the Feature Circle
Using the Circle Nesting Dies, choose a circle that fits your LetterPress plate nicely ( 3¾” wide). Die-cut the circle from Multi-Purpose White Card using your Gemini II.
Step 3: Add the LetterPress Sentiment
Place the “Thank You” LetterPress plate into the LetterPress platform and position it so the design will sit nicely within the die-cut circle.
Ink the plate using the Jet Black LetterPress Inkpad, then run it through your machine to create the beautifully pressed sentiment.
Once complete, adhere the circle towards the top of the card, ensuring an even border along the top and both sides.
Step 4: Create the Butterflies
Use the Floral & Flutter Dies to cut butterflies from pink cardstock and vellum.
Gently pinch the wings to add movement and dimension.
Arrange the butterflies around the sentiment to find the perfect placement before gluing. When you're ready, apply adhesive and attach them to the card.
A helpful tip: reverse tweezers are useful for holding the delicate butterflies while you add glue and position them on your project.
Step 5: Add the Sparkle
Apply a small amount of glue to the centre of each vellum butterfly.
Using a wax pick-up tool, carefully place small gems into the glue.
Allow everything to dry completely.
Finishing Touches
And just like that, your elegant thank you card is complete! The combination of linen cardstock, the LetterPress sentiment, and delicate layered butterflies creates a design that feels both classic and special.
Why not experiment with different colour palettes or sentiments to create a whole set of beautiful cards? Once you start making them, you’ll find it hard to stop! ✨
