5 Reasons to add cardstock to your Stamp & Die pockets - tips & tricks

You probably already know that using Stamp & Die Pockets with our Die, Stamp & Supply Organizer is the perfect way to organize your dies and unmounted stamps. But did you know that adding a piece of cardstock to each die pocket is easy to do, and has several benefits?

Create a barrier

A piece of cardstock can act as a barrier to keep your dies from sliding out of the pocket when you turn it upside down.  With the fold-over top flap at the front,  put the dies into the pocket in front of the cardstock. Close the pocket flap and tuck it into the pocket behind the cardstock.

Add an imprint

Use a piece of cardstock to create an imprint of the stamp(s) that are stored in the pocket.  This is useful when the stamp did not include either a plastic sheet showing the impression or the stamp itself isn’t colored.

Store twice as many

If you are putting two sets of dies into 1 pocket, using a piece of cardstock to separate the two sets will make the individual sets easier to access when you need them.

Store pre-cut pieces

If you cut dies that don’t get used immediately, you can easily slide these pre-cut shapes into the pocket on the opposite side from the dies themselves.  You can also mount a cut image on the piece of cardstock for a clear impression of what the die is and how it goes together..

Easy label

Last, but certainly not least, the cardstock insert can be used to label your dies and provide any other additional information.

You may want to make note of which platforms to use with each die or the brand/manufacturer of the dies in your pockets.

Creating cardstock inserts for your pockets

To create cardstock inserts for your pockets, you’ll want to cut your cardstock just a little smaller than the pocket itself.  This will ensure that the cardstock is easy to slide into the pocket. 

Small pocket cardstock insert 3.75″ x 2.75″ or 9.6cm x 7.1cm

Medium pocket cardstock insert
5″x 4.25″ or
12.5cm x 10.3cm Large pocket cardstock insert: 6″ x 6 7/16″ or
15.1 cm x 16.4 cm

One last tip

Consider pre-cutting pieces of cardstock and storing them with your pockets.  It will be easier to add new products to your storage system if you’ve got precut cards.
