Margaret is here to show you how to make this gorgeous Easel Card with a hidden insert!
Crafter’s Companion UK supplies:
Also used but not pictured: Die’sire Jolly Bells die, silver mirri card, ribbon, crystal gems
Step 1: Score the card into four equal sections. Remove the bottom left hand section but keep this for later.
Step 2: Turn the card so that two sections are at the top and the single section is at the bottom left hand. Place the Holly Bells die diagonally across the bottom section. Make sure the cutting side is facing towards the centre. I put a short score line in the corners which made placing the die easier.
Important: do not score across the diagonal.
Fold the top section in half so that the card will pass through most die cutting machines, cut, then emboss. Carefully remove the die.
Step 3: Lay the die on a small piece of contrasting card, draw around the shape leaving a small border and cut out.
Cut the square you saved diagonally and stick one to the back of the easel to cover the cut out area, make sure you do not stick the glue onto the front part.
Slide the shadow behind the die cut section and stick.
Step 4: Lay the die across the remaining diagonal section, cut and emboss.
Step 5: Place the die cut across the bottom of one of the contrasting squares and tuck under the point. Stick this onto the top section of the card.
Step 6: Stick the remaining contrast square inside the card and add a 4″ insert (Found on any Crafter’s Companion papercrafting CD).
Step 7: Cut the Jolly Bells die and the Only Words Happy Christmas from Mirri card. Draw around the Jolly Bells on contrast to make a shadow.
Using Collall 3D Gel, place onto the easel front. Add the Happy Christmas.
Finish by adding a ribbon bow as a stopper and gems to decorate. You may also like to add a faux stitch border as I did.
I hope you enjoy making this easel card with a hidden insert!
