Tutorial: Downton Abbey Ladies’ Card Fold

Recently design team member Jo McKelvey made a fabulous ‘Ladies’ Card’ and we’ve had several questions about hwo she did it. She shared a tutorial on her blog and allowed us to re-print it here! Make sure you pop over to her blog to see more pictures of this ladies’ card and the masculine version she created!

Supplies (used on the card above and to demonstrate the fold in the tutorial below):

Jo’s directions:

Step 1: Take a piece of A4 card and using your Ultimate Pro, score lines for a gatefold card.

Step 2: Turn the card and trim some away – I never measure this I just decide where to cut by eye.

Step 3: Open your Ultimate Pro to the centre and score a line diagonally as shown.

Step 4: Using the 4th line, and placing the corner of the first score line on the first line, score again as shown.

Step 5: Fold your gatefold fold on the side you have just scored.

Step 6: Fold the second line as shown.

Step 7: Fold the last line as shown above.

The picture above shows you how it should look if you were looking from above.

Step 8: Now score the other side of your gatefold, as shown, corner to corner.

Step 9: Score the second line diagonally, using the 4th line on your Ultimate Pro.

Step 10: Fold your gatefold first, then the lines as shown.

You will end up with a card like this! Decorate as you wish.
