“My name is Angela O’Donoghue and I have been crafting for 23 years in one way or another. I started crafting after seeing a 3D decoupage picture that I fell in love with. I started by buying a set of prints that I liked and taught myself from there to build up the picture.

I then got the bug for just creating and tried many crafts including cross stitch, glass painting, tatting, candle making, punch embroidery, and many many more. I think it helps to try lots of things to find what you love the most.

I eventually combined 3D decoupage and card making and found what I loved the most. I sold my cards at craft fairs for a few years until my health put an end to it. But craft became the one thing I could continue with and has over the years saved my sanity. As a lot of crafters I have fallen in love with using dies since they launched and love to cut into them and use them to showcase all the images I love.

I live in Norfolk with my husband and have one daughter and two grandchildren who are everything to me. I never realised how special it would be to become a grandmother and just how much it was possible to love them.

I was lucky enough to realise my dream and became a member of the Crafter’s Companion Die’sire design team in June of this year and haven’t come down from cloud nine since. I adore working with these dies and am having the time of my life.”

And she answered a few of our crafty questions:

Do you have a project you would love to make but haven’t yet ?Yes I have just bought two large 12″ x 12″ MDF boxes that I want to paint and decorate for my two grandchildren as Christmas Eve boxes with their names on. I must admit to being excited and scared about starting them.

What is your favourite type of project to make? My first love was and still is 3D decoupage. I just love to bring a image to life and twinned with card making makes the card more of a gift.

Do you have a favourite colour palette to use ? I must admit to loving purples, mauves and lilacs most of all.

What is your favourite Crafter’s Companion product? Oh without hesitation it has to be my Cut ‘n’ Boss, I could not live without it!  I have to say I am totally in love with all  of Crafter’s Companion’s products because they are all so well made.

When you colour stamped images, do you prefer to use Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, coloured pencils, or the Spectrum Aqua watercolour markers? Well I used to use alcohol pens to colour my images but recently got a chance to try the Aqua watercolour markers at a workshop and I loved them so much I have just purchased the complete set! I am looking forward much more now to doing more stamping than in the past as these pens just make what you colour so natural.

What would you love to learn to do/use ? I must admit to having spent a lot of money on a Brother scan ‘n cut which I haven’t been able to get to grips with and would love to learn more about it.

I am always so busy making cards I never seem to have the time to just sit and play, or I would love to learn to do pottery too. I have always wanted to do it but never had the confidence to go alone to classes, maybe one day.

What’s your favourite card fold to use? I have to say my favourite card fold would have to be a 8″ x 8″ easel card…I just love the amount of design space I get to work with.
