Tutorial: Festive Ornaments with Spectrum Noir Sparkle

Advent Title Pic a w

If you’re making handmade ornaments this year, Sandie has a fantastic tutorial for you!

Supplies:

Directions:

Advent Pic 1

Make repeated snow hills on the tag base by using a hill mask and sponging over Distress Ink (here I have used Blueprint Sketch first, then Shaded Lilac to fade out).

Tip: leave a white gap between hills as the snow. I have done two to show different looks!

Advent Pic 2

Die cut three Die’sire Christmas Trees and emboss – you will need 3 per tag you make. In the pictures I used Sheena Douglass’ Pine Trees folder, but the Textures Leaf Vein folder would work to!

Advent Pic 3

Option one: Trees – Scribble a little Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens in Holly Leaf & Aquamarine onto a glass mat. Use a damp brush to pick up the colour. Paint the embossed pattern Holly Leaf and shade down one side and across the
sections with Aquamarine.

Advent Pic 4

Option two: Trees – Use Spectrum Noir Sparkle Clear pen direct to the raised areas of the Christmas Tree.

Advent Pic 5

Option one: Background – Add Spectrum Noir Sparkle (Aquamarine) pen direct to paper and colour a thin line along the hills at the darkest point. Use a damp brush to wash the colour over the rest of the blue/lilac ink.

Advent Pic 7

Both background options will give a different look, why not try out your own combinations?

Advent Pic 8

Layer the Christmas Trees onto the tag using Collal 3D glue gel, punch a whole and add ribbon, lace and charms to finish.
