Happy May, crafters!

This month we’ve got a wonderful tutorial for you from Margaret Brown. Margaret has created a wonderful Double Pop Out Gatefold Card that is easy to re-create and makes an lovely, elegant card to send someone!

Crafter’s Companion Supplies:

Other Supplies:

Satin bows from the Crafter’s Companion Downton Abbey Kit

Score down the A4 gatefold line and then at 1 ½ inches from both sides. Fold centre score into hill fold and the outside ones into valley folds.
Now flatten and centre the Ornate Screen die onto the centre score line.
Cut and Emboss.
Repeat for the other piece.
Cut a 3 ½ inch deep strip from the bottom of the 12 x 12 paper retain for later.
Cut 2 A5 pieces from the remainder, decide which side you want behind the screen and fold in half.

Re-Fold and burnish the two die cut panels.
Apply glue to the solid area of the reverse of one of the outside sections.
Place inside the pattern paper and stick into place slightly set back from the edge. (This is to allow for trimming later), apply glue to the other side and fold the pattern paper down onto the glue.
Repeat so you have two pop out sections.
Place each pop out into the gatefold card. Apply glue to the gatefold part and stick to the pop out section making sure it is tight into the fold .DO NOT STICK THE INSIDE PART… When you fold the card shut you will see how much you need to trim from the centre edges.

Open the card to the centre section. Cut a piece of the co-ordinating paper to fit A5 less 2mm on the width. Add the A6 insert.
Cut and Emboss the Ornate screen from the remaining cream card, trim to the exact size of the die.
Mat onto a piece of the co-ordinating paper.

Cut a slightly larger piece of core’dinations card and again from the remaining cream card. Stick the two wrong sides together then mat the screen onto the core’dinations side.

Photo 5

Take the 3 ½ “ strip of the double sided paper and wrap around the card, stick and trim to fit.
Attach the Ornate Screen to the left-hand side.
Cut and emboss the Antique Frame, Feather Brooch and 2 Ribbon Brooch’s from the core’dinations. Lightly dust with Pebeo Gold Gilding wax.

Draw around the Antique Frame onto some of the cream card. Cut out Add a sentiment then the frame.
