Hello August…where did you come from!? We love this time of the Month because we get to know more about our lovely members and their crafting stories! There’s nothing better than using your talents to give back to charity and here at Crafter’s Companion, we love to give back to the community! Meet sue, our Member of the Month, a talented oil-painter and scrapbooker, read her story here….
“My name is Susan Tripp. From an early age I have been interested in all sorts if crafting sewing ,knitting and painting.
I never thought I was good at art but loved to draw and paint.
In my 30s I took up oil painting, but then life took over and I did not craft for some years. One day I saw a TV program about card making and scrap booking and I was hooked. Now in my late 60s I am addicted. I make cards for my family and friends,
I also belong to a club called Inner Wheel and sell my card to raise money for charity.
My son has been ill and helps out at the local Hospice Shop I make cards for them to sell there. I sell my cards at craft fairs and donate the proceeds to my chosen charity’s.
I love cats and dogs, I have 4 cats myself, I make card for the Cats Protection League. I have also made cards and cloths for a children’s home in India.
I have a very stressful life due to a on going health issues looking after my son and helping to run a small business with my husband, I find my arts and craft help me to relax and gives me strength for the next day”
Please let us know how you use your crafting to give back! We’d love to hear your story!
