If you are anything like Sam, you will have copious off cuts of papers from your Crafter’s Companion paper pads. This Mother’s Day card is a great scrap-buster!
You’ll need the following Crafter’s Companion goodies to create these stunning cards:
Steps to transform your off cuts:
One: Gather your offcuts from the English Country Garden 12×12 paper pad. Use a paper trimmer to cut these into long triangles. Width is unimportant. Random is good! Also cut a 6” x 5” piece of card.
Two: Apply the tape pen generously all over the 6” x 5” base. Wet glue can be used if preferred. Sam prefers the tape pen as it’s less messy and doesn’t dry to fast whilst the starburst is being assembled. Add the first triangle of paper, with the point off centre at the bottom.
Three: Continue to add the triangles of paper until the 6” x 5” base is full!
Four: Use a paper trimmer to trim the piece to 5⅜“ x 3¾”. Cut a piece of patterned paper measuring 5⅜” x 1⅝” for the strip at the bottom of the card. Finally, cut a piece of Neenah kraft card to 5⅝” square.
Five: Assemble the front of the card. Glue the starburst and bottom border to the kraft card before concealing the join with ribbon, wrapping around the back and securing with tape pen. Mount this panel on the front of a 6×6 Card Blank.
Six: Finish the card with a Die’sire greeting and quilling flower.
Crafty Tip: Make use of the Diamond Press Alphabet Dies to personalise the card for the grandparents too!
