Hi Crafters! It has been a while since we posted a new launch tutorial so here goes! You won’t want to miss this fabulous collection from Sara – Glamour, and it certainly lives up to its name.
Glamour is launching on Hochanda May 1st and of course the wonderful Sara Davies will be hosting the shows! We’re excited! You’ll be able to buy from here on Tuesday 2nd May.
Here’s a massive sneak peek and fun tutorial from Linda! Don’t forget to send in your photos if you recreate this lovely card!
Steps to create this card using the Glamour Collection
I started with an A4 piece of Black card and scored a fold line at 12.5cm.
The Crafter’s Companion matt black card is perfect for bases as its 300gsm and very sturdy. – https://www.crafterscompanion.co.uk/papercraft/paper-and-card/essential-cardstock/matt-black-a4-cardstock-pack-of-40.html
Emboss the longer edge with the Swirling Vines embossing strip and apply some Pebeo Silver gilding wax to enhance. I’ve also added a scattering of gems but this can be done last.
Next let’s create some matts, I have used the Silver Mirri card 12 x 20.5cm which I have gutted (hate to waste it!) and Purple Glitter card (Love this!!!) 11 x 19.5cm, and add to the shorter side to become the card front.
Time now for some die-cutting! With the black glitter card, cut 4 x Flourishing corner, 2 x Sassy shoe, 1 Charismatic clutch and 1 Happy Birthday. Cut 2 x Venetian Mirrors (large frame) 1 in Silver Glitter card and 1 in black, plus one of the smaller frames in matt silver mirri card.
Add the corners to the purple glitter card mount, I’ve used Collall tacky glue but Stick-it would work well here too. Stick the Silver glitter frame to the black one leaving to create a drop shadow, then add the matt mirri frame to the centre. This is then added to the centre of the card with Collall 3d glue gel for height.
With those lovely shoes and the bag, I like to add a backing and chose some more sparkle – a girl can never have enough sparkle! – I’ve done it in 2 stages, the main shoe with silver glitter card and the inside with silver mirri. I usually just glue into place and trim with scissors which works well. The same with the bag, although this is just glitter cardstock.
We can now add these bits to the frame. Firstly stick the sentiment towards the top – again this is easier if you cut it with stick-it attached, then add the bag by “hanging” from one of the scrolls on the mirror edge with 3d glue gel. Place the shoes at the bottom but offset them and add more 3d glue gel to the top one so it sits in front.
It wouldn’t be complete without a dusting of the fabulous gems!
An insert always makes a card special! I’ve used the Swirling Vines corner embossing folder top and bottom to create further interest.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this tutorial and would love to see what you make.
