A Quick and Easy Christmas tutorial by Allison Hugill

Hello its Alli here again and Christmas is nearly upon us.  I for one am fast running out of time so here is a quick little card if you are stuck for inspiration.

what you will need:

Crafters Inspiration 16 embossing folder
Crafters Companion, Cute Christmas, festive phrases dies
Crafters Companion, Centura pearl, pastels card
5 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ cream tent fold base card
red card
green card scraps (for holly leaves)
holly die or punch
circle die or punch (for berries)
Cosmic Shimmer golden olive gilding polish
3/4″ red gingham ribbon
Christmas red Stickles

Step 1

Cut a piece of green Centura pearl card to fit the embossing folder and emboss.

Step 2

Cut the embossed card to size and gently rub over the embossing with the gilding polish. Rub the edges of the card with gilding polish to give an aged look.

Step 3

Mat and layer the embossed topper onto red card and then onto the cream base card (I use a 6″ x 6″ base card and then cut it down to size).

Step 4

Cut the festive phrases from red card and stick onto the topper.

Step 5

Cut two pieces of the ribbon, one about 6 1/2″ long and the other 4″ long. Double over the long length of ribbon and cut a taper at the open end (this will form the bow tails).
Make the ends of the shorter ribbon meet and make into a bow middle by securing with a piece of thread.

Step 6

Double over the bow tails and glue into position under the bow top.

Step 7

Glue the bow onto the card topper.

Step 8

Cut the holly berries from red card and cover with red stickles, allow to completely dry.
Cut the holly leaves from green card and shape with a pokey tool. Stick the holly leaves over the bow, stick the berries onto the holly leaves.
