Nature’s Garden Spring is in the Air project

Crafter's Companion – 14/06/19

Transform your papercraft projects into a springtime garden with the Spring is in the Air range from Nature’s Garden. Packed full of flowers, pastel shades and adorable spring-themed sentiments, this is the ideal range to add a bit of femininity into your stash!

With this amazing card project from Sharon Nettleship, you can inject a bit of springtime fun into your recipients life! Featuring an adorable couple cuddled up under an umbrella, incredible 3D flowers and a ‘dancing in the rain’ sentiment, this is such a fun card to create!

You will need:

Step 1

Using a 7″ x 7″ blank card, trim off a panel measuring 4 1/2 cm. Pick one of the papers from the Nature’s Garden pad, create a panel to fit and adhere it to the front of the card leaving a small margin. Take another contrasting piece of paper and again, create a panel and adhere it to the bottom layer leaving another small margin. Do the same again to the inside of the card.

Step 2

Die-cut the Doily Frame, Corner and Border using different papers. Die-cut the border four times and trim to size, as this will make the frame around the main image.

Step 3

Stamp and die-cut the umbrella on to the Neenah cardstock. Die-cut three Asters in each of the sizes. Die-cut four medium and three small leaves.

Step 4

Stamp the main image on to a piece of Neenah card. Colour the skin in with the Fair Skin Blend TriBlend. Now the fun bit, dressing up your images! Stamp the image on to different pieces of the papers from the pad and cut out. Adhere them to your pre-stamped image on the cardstock. Add the Doily Corner in the bottom left. Do the same for the asters, leaves and umbrella.

Tip: if you stamp the paper pieced pieces in Finesse Noir Black, then clear embossing powder, it leaves a nice raised image, which makes it easier for you to follow and cut out.

Step 5

Stamp the sentiment on to another piece of patterned paper and frame it with the Doily Frame. You may have to trim the frame down in the centre to allow all of the sentiment to show.

Step 6

Now construct your card as shown in the photo. Use 3D pads to adhere the sentiment frame and umbrella, and use Collall glue for the other components. To finish off the card, add Just Pearls to the centres of your Asters. Allow the whole thing to dry and then it’s ready to go!

This exquisite card is sure to be loved by any recipient. You could even switch up the sentiment to make this a cute Valentine’s card! We can’t wait to see what you come up with, so be sure to share your creations with us on FacebookTwitter or Instagram using the hashtag #crafterscompanion.
