How to use drawing gum with Craig

Craig Laird – 06/12/19

The Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens are absolutely perfect for a whole host of techniques and effects, from brush lettering to adding washes of colour. In today’s inspiration video, Craig Laird shows you how to pair them up with Pebeo’s Drawing Gum – a fantastic medium that resists water and ink to help you create stand out images on your projects.

If this is a medium that is brand new to you, you’ll have to check out the video below to see it in action! He begins by stamping the image and sentiment on to his card using the Drawing Gun, then allowing it to dry before adding the Sparkle. The effect is truly stunning! We know that you’re going to absolutely love the satisfying peeling of the Drawing Gum at the end – watch to see!

You will need:

Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens (choose from Autumn-Winter, Coastal Cottage, Floral Garden, Glitz and Glamour, Metallics, Nature Trail, Perfect Pastels, Spring-Summer, Vintage Tones or Clear Overlay)
Pebeo Drawing Gum – 45ml Bottle
Watercolour Card – 15 sheets
Matt Black Card
Nylon Wash Brush – 1/2″
Nylon Wash Brush – 3/4″
Round Brush – size 6
Shadow Brush – size 8
Round Brush – size 3

How incredible is that final look? Who else wants to use Drawing Gum in absolutely all of their projects now? We just love the way that it peels off to reveal that stunning stamped sentiment below, contrasting against the blue and green Sparkle blend. We just know you’re going to have so much fun with this combo, so make sure you take a look at the shopping list and give it a go!
