Creating detailed embellishments for your cards has never been easier than with the Layering Stamp and Dies. This is a product that does exactly what it says on the tin – stamp your layers, then die-cut! This is an easy and well-loved concept, but if you’re yet to be introduced, take a look at this tutorial!
In this step-by-step, you’ll learn how to create this fun and simple concertina card, which features three delicious ice creams, complete with cherries and sprinkles. They look good enough to eat, right?
You will need:
- Sweet Treats Layering Stamp and Die set
- 8″ x 8″ Brights Textured Card
- Stamping Card
- 6″ x 6″ Detailed Decorations pad
- Black card
- Neenah Solar White Card
- A3 white card
- Stitch Edge Oval 2 Dies
- Spectrum Noir Quick Dry Inkpads in Rose Tulip, Plum Jam, Sandstone, Friar Brown, Straw Bale and Oasis
- Spectrum Noir Water Reactive Inkpad in Grasshopper
- Spectrum Noir Opaque Pigment Inkpad in Noir Black
- Collall All Purpose Glue
- Collall 3D Glue Gel
Cut the A3 card to measure 7″ x 15″. Score at 5″ and 10″, then fold and burnish.
Cut black and white mats and layers for each section of the concertina.
Using the largest Stitched Edge Oval 2 Die, cut three mats – one in yellow, one in blue and one in pink from the Textured Card pack.
Using the second largest Oval 2 Die, cut three layers of patterned paper from the Detailed Decorations pad. The spotty one is cute because it looks like sprinkles!
Adhere all of the mats and layers using Collall All Purpose Glue, then set aside.
Begin stamping your ice creams, starting with the cones. Use Straw Bale and Sandstone Quick Dry Inks to create the layers, stamping on to Neenah Solar White Card. Stamp three individual cones.
Stamp three different flavours of ice cream – Sandstone for chocolate, Straw Bale for banana and Rose Tulip for strawberry. While you can experiment by stamping different shades to layer up, the ice creams in this project were stamped with the same shade of ink on each layer.
Add sprinkles by stamping Fuchsia, Friar Brown and Oasis from the Quick Dry Inkpad range.
Stamp two cherries using the Plum Jam Quick Dry Ink and the Grasshopper Water Reactive Ink for the stalk. Die-cut the cherries using the dies from the set.
Construct your ice creams using the Collall 3D Glue Gel and adhere them on to each panel of the concertina in the centre of the matting and layering.
Stamp the sentiments on to Stamping Card using the Noir Black Opaque Pigment Ink, then mat on to Bright Textured Card and adhere in place on your card with 3D Glue Gel.
