For today’s project, we thought we’d go a little bit magical and combine our Quirky Sentiment Stamps with the Sara Signature Enchanted Christmas range to create a beautiful shaker card. As the sentiment is pretty generic, this is a brilliant card for a variety occasions or for giving ‘just because’, so follow the steps below and make your own!
You will need:
- Make a Fairytale Clear Acrylic Stamp
- White Stamping Card
- Scrap piece of black card
- Watercolour Card
- Textured Brights Cardstock
- Plain card blue
- Spectrum Noir Liquid Sparkle Inks in Aquamarine and Amethyst
- Spectrum Noir Harmony Water Reactive Inkpads in Plum Jam, Fuchsia and Oasis
- Spectrum Noir Finesse Water Proof Inkpad in Noir Black
- Torn Edge Square Die
- Stitched Edge Square Die
- Fairy & Wing Die from Sara Signature Enchanted Forest
- 3D Glue Gel
- All Purpose Glue
Make the card base out of a strip of Stamping Card cut to 28cm x 12cm. Score at 14cm and 20cm. Set to one side.
Cut a panel measuring 13cm x 11cm from the blue card and set to one side.
On dampened watercolour paper, sprinkle drops of the Liquid Sparkle Inks and use a straw to blow the colours or hole the paper upright and turn it to make the colours drip until you’re happy with the abstract effect. Allow the colours to dry and cut to 12.5cm x 10.5cm, then adhere to the blue card panel.
With the Square Dies, cut four frames from Stamping Card, glue together with All Purpose Glue and allow it to dry.
Cut one frame out of purple card and glue acetate on to the back. Allow it to dry.
With the largest Square Die, cut one shape from Stamping Card to create the back of the shaker.
With a brush or blending tool, apply the Water Reactive Inks until you’re happy with the results. Then allow it dry and stamp your design with the Water Proof Inkpad.
Glue the white frame on to the background with the stamp, sprinkle the sequins inside and close with the purple frame and acetate window.
When dry, mount the shaker on to the glitter background with All Purpose Glue.
Die-cut a fairy from black cardstock and a wing from the scrap of the coloured background, and glue on to the shaker frame.
From a scrap of glittery coloured card, cut out hearts with a punch and glue on to the card base with 3D Glue Gel.
Tie a ribbon around the card and tie a bow. Add a dot of glue to keep it in place.
