Nature’s Garden Fairy Garden dandelion shaker card

Crafter's Companion – 19/03/20

What better way to welcome in a new season than with a touch of cardmaking? Spring is a brilliant season for crafting because it’s all about pretty colours, soft textures and adorable motifs, all of which you will find in the shaker card project below!

This fun card features an interactive shaker that your recipients will love and it’s themed around the Nature’s Garden Fairy Garden range. This means that there are florals, dandelion puffs, toadstools and a sweet fairy-themed sentiment. Take a look at just how easy it is to achieve by following the step-by-step instructions!

You will need:

Step 1

Cut a piece of White Stamping Card to 5″ x 7″ and run it through your die-cutting machine inside the Make A Wish Cut & Emboss Folder.

Step 2

Use the Spectrum Noir Harmony Quick Dry Dye Inkpad in Fuchsia and the Round Blending Tool to buff colour on to the embossed areas and outer edges of the card.

Step 3

Cut a piece of acetate to 5″ x 7″ and use red liner tape to adhere it to the back of the embossed and die-cut piece of card.

Step 4

Add foam tape around the outer edges of the piece, ensuring that there are no gaps, but don’t remove the backing just yet.

Step 5

Cut a piece of backing paper from the paper pad to 5″ x 7″ , then set this to one side.

Step 6

Place your chosen sequins on the rear of the acetate in the middle of the card, then remove the backing from the tape and carefully place your paper backing on, lining it up carefully.

Step 7

Cut a piece of kraft card to 5.25″ x 7.25″, then glue this to the shaker piece. Once the two are adhered, glue on to the front of your card base.

Step 8

Choose your favourite stamp from the set and stamp it on to a piece of White Stamping Card. Cut it to size, then layer it with a piece of kraft card and adhere to the front of the card.

Step 9

Use the Pretty Posies Dies to cut out flowers and foliage, and adhere them to your card in spots that you like. Then embellish and any extra details!
