Create your own King's Coronation bunting

Coming up in May is the long awaited, historic moment that you’ll likely only experience once in a lifetime – King Charles’ Coronation.

With a bank holiday officially announced for those of us in the UK, it’ll be a weekend of celebration, street parties and time spent with loved ones, and what’s a royal party without all things red, white and blue?

For those in the US, it could even be reused for Independence Day!

Follow our guide below and create your own!

You will need the following materials, but feel free to switch them up for preference.

  • Sara Signature Garden Party:
  • Summertime Pennant Die Set
  • Party Die Set
  • Gemini 5 x 7” Textured Embossing Folder – Studded Leather
  • Craft Kit 42 (Sentiment Stamp)
  • Spectrum Noir Quick-Dry Inkpad – Midnight
  • Violet Studios Home For Christmas Assorted Twine
  • Multi-Purpose Card
  • Red Card
  • Blue Card
  • Collall All-Purpose Glue
  • Collall Tacky Glue
  • Foam Pads/Tape – 2mm and 3mm Depth

Instructions:

Die-cut three of the largest pennants from the Summertime Pennant Die Set from red card. Die-cut the smaller pennant from multi-purpose card three times and emboss each piece using the Studded Leather embossing folder.

Mat each white pennant onto a slightly larger blue pennant (cut by hand) and then glue these to the red lacy pennants.

Die-cut the largest lacy doily from the Summertime Pennant Die Set three times from red card, the medium-sized doily three times from blue card and the smallest doily from multi-purpose card twice.

Stamp the “YAY” sentiment onto the two white doilies and layer the three doilies together as shown. Use foam pads to attach a doily to each of the pennants.

Die-cut the word “Party” in both red and blue card and the outer mat die from white card. Drop shadow the blue word below the red and then stick this to the white mat. Use foam pads to adhere this to the layered doily without the stamped sentiment in the centre.

Die-cut three stars from blue card and three from red and three of the swirls from blue card and three from red. Glue these to the pennants as shown to embellish.

Thread twine through the three pennants to join them together.

You’ve now created bunting perfect for a Kings Coronation party!
