Last Minute Card Tutorial:

1. To create the card base, cut your 12" × 12" cardstock down to 10" × 7" and Score along the long edge at 2½" and 7½" to form a gatefold card.

2. Prepare the Gatefold Panels by cutting two pale yellow mats measuring 6⅞" × 2⅜". Cut two decorative panels from your 12" paper pad to 6¾" × 2¼".

3. Layer each decorative paper onto its matching yellow mat, then adhere both to the front gatefold flaps.

4. Using your guillotine, cut the following pieces from coloured cardstock to create the Gift Panels:

  • Pink: 3½" × 1¾"

  • Green: 2¼" × 2¼"

  • Yellow: 2" × 1¾"

Cut each of these shapes again from white cardstock to use as base layers.

5. Emboss and layer the Gifts by gluing each coloured linen card piece onto its coordinating white cardstock piece to give dimension and stability.

6. Add Ribbon Strips to the Gifts by cutting ribbon strips

  • Glitter: ½" wide

  • Gold: ¼" wide

  • Purple: ¼" wide

7. Then, add dotty tape or Collall glue to the back of each strip and attach the strips across the fronts of the gifts, trimming away any excess with scissors.

8. Add a Bow by die-cutting a bow and attaching it to the yellow gift to complete the stack.

9. Position the gifts vertically down the centre, starting with the pink at the bottom and ending with the yellow at the top. Leave no gaps between the presents, starting about ¾" from the bottom edge.

10. Attach the Gifts Securely by lifting each gift in turn and attaching as follows:

  • Pink gift: Add glue or tape to the left-hand side only and adhere to the left gatefold.

  • Green gift: Add adhesive to the right-hand side only and attach to the right gatefold.

  • Yellow gift: Add glue to the left-hand side only and attach to the left gatefold.

This allows the card to open while keeping the stacked-gift look centred.

11. Create and Add the Sentiment Banner by stamping your sentiment onto white cardstock and trimming to size.

12. Notch the right edge to create a banner shape and mat onto a gold mat mirror card and trim to leave a subtle shadow.

13. Add 3D foam pads to the back and place the banner on the bottom-left of the card front.

14. To finish, add three half pearls: one in the top left corner and two in the bottom right to complete the look.

Your Last-Minute Christmas Card is now complete—and it’s proof that a quick project can still be beautiful, thoughtful, and full of festive charm. With its handmade gifts, gatefold design, and simple embellishments, this card is perfect for those moments when you need something handmade in a hurry.
