Get ready to add a sweet, handmade touch to your festive celebrations with this DIY Small Christmas Chocolate Box! This quick and easy project lets you package treats in a charming, personalised way—perfect for stocking fillers, table gifts, or thoughtful little surprises. Let’s dive into the simple steps to create your own festive chocolate box.
What you'll need:
1 Piece of card measuring 3 ¾ x 8 ¼ ‘’ (any colour card)
You will need to cut some decorative papers:
1 pc 2 x 1 5/8
1 pc 2 x 2 7/8
1 pc 2 x 2 ¼
A Velcro dot.
Chocolate Box Tutorial
1. Start by scoring your cardstock.
On the 3¾" side, score at 3/8", ¾", 3", and 3⅜".
On the 8¼" side, score at 2½", 2⅞", 6", and 6⅜".
2. Trim away the excess pieces as shown in your layout guide. For a neat, professional finish, cut away the score lines themselves rather than leaving them visible.
3. Round off the corners of the lid and side panels if you want to add a decorative touch.
4. Assemble the box by gluing the tabs and flaps to the bottom panel, forming the base and walls securely.
5. Decorate your chocolate box using papers, dies, or embellishments of your choice.
For this project, Retro Christmas Candy Cane was used to create the bow, Retro Christmas Winter Blessings for the sentiment, and papers from the Retro Christmas 12" × 12" pad to finish the look.
With just a few score lines, some clever trimming, and your favourite festive embellishments, this little chocolate box comes together beautifully. It’s a quick, charming project that adds a handmade touch to your Christmas gifting—perfect for table favours, stocking fillers, or thoughtful treats for friends and family. Have fun customising each box with your own papers and decorations, and enjoy spreading a little extra holiday cheer, one sweet surprise at a time.
