What You Will Need:
- Butterfly Vertical Edge Stamp & Die
- Black alcohol-proof inkpad
- Alcohol markers
- My Special Papers Pearl
- Pink linen cardstock
- Rhinestone tool
- Hot Gem Pack Crystal
- Single-hole punch
- Tape pen
- Trimmer
How to make the bookmark
Step 1: Cut the base layers
Using your trimmer, cut a piece of white card to 2 ¾” x 6 ½”.
Next, cut a piece of pink linen cardstock slightly smaller, trimming it down by ⅛” so it layers neatly on top.
Then cut a piece of blue paper to 2 ½” x 6 ¼”.
Adhere the pieces together, then use a single hole punch to punch a hole in the top centre of the bookmark.
Step 2: Stamp and die-cut the butterflies
Stamp the butterfly design onto your chosen card using a black alcohol-proof inkpad.
Die-cut the butterflies, using both edge dies to cut the full shape out completely.
Step 3: Add colour
Bring your butterflies to life using alcohol markers. You can keep the colours soft and pretty for an elegant finish, or go bold and bright for something more eye-catching.
Step 4: Add sparkle
Using your rhinestone tool and clear gems, add decorative details to the butterflies’ heads and abdomens. This gives your bookmark a lovely bit of sparkle and extra dimension.
Step 5: Finish with a tassel
Thread some string and a tassel through the hole at the top of the bookmark, adding that finishing touch to your bookmark.
Your butterfly bookmark is now ready to use. You can personalise these bookmarks to your taste, making them wonderful gifts for book lovers, teacher presents, or craft fair makes.
