Halloween is the perfect time to get crafty, and what better way to celebrate the spooky season than with some handmade bookmarks?
Whether you’re a book lover or just want a quick, fun papercraft project, these three Halloween bookmark ideas are easy to make and super effective.
1. Mummy Bookmark
This adorable (and slightly spooky) mummy design is made using torn paper for a fun layered effect.

You’ll need:
- White linen cardstock
- Black cardstock
- Ink pad (grey or brown)
- Googly eyes
- Glue
- Holepunch
- Twine
- Alphabet dies and Mini (or you can write it on!)
How to make it:
-
Cut your bookmark base from black cardstock.
-
Tear strips of white linen cardstock to create ragged “bandages.”
-
Lightly ink the edges of each strip for that distressed, aged look.
-
Layer and glue the strips across the bookmark, leaving a small gap near the top.
-
Stick on two googly eyes peeking through the bandages.
-
Finish with a die cut or handwritten “BOO” at the bottom.
-
Punch a hole and thread some twine through.
2. Ghostly Bookmark
This one is perfect if you love die cutting! Create a trio of floating ghosts on a dark background.

You’ll need:
- Black cardstock
- White cardstock
- Ghost shaped dies and die cutting machine
- Adhesive
- Holepunch
- Twine
- Pens for the faces and details (black and light grey)
- White pen for details.
How to make it:
-
Cut your bookmark base from black cardstock.
-
Die cut three ghosts from white cardstock.
-
Stick the ghosts down on the bookmark.
-
Add little details for the faces using a black pen.
-
Add the other details on the ghosts body using the light grey pen.
-
Outline the edges with a white pen.
-
Punch a hole in the top and thread the twine through.
3. Spooky Cut-Outs Bookmark
Cats, bats, witches’ hats… this bookmark is all about layering your favourite spooky silhouettes!

Glue
How to make it:
