Welcome back to another wonderful Watch Along Wednesday! Today, David Falcon is sharing his incredible Gemini Wrap Die video! If you’ve been looking for the perfect way to wrap up your papercraft projects, these dies could be right up your street.
The concept behind these dies is to provide two decorative ends to a whole band that can be joined together to form a ring. This ring can then be folded flat to slip around a card or invitation, or folded in such a way that it can fit on to a gift box. They can be left loose so that your recipient can remove the band to open the project or they can be adhered for a delicate decoration!
In David’s video, he uses the Elegant Swans, the Ornate Cross and the Fancy Bow Dies to create three different quick projects, so take a look at the video below to see how these tools work.
In each set, you receive two dies that correspond to the opposite end of the band. The straight edges do not cut through, giving you the opportunity to create a band in a length of your choice to join both decorative edges together. Each of the decorative dies measure 2.5″ across, resulting in a 5″ front piece when connected, so you simply need to add as much card as you need to create the back panel.
For example, for an A6 card:
- Cut a strip of card to measure 10.5″ x 1.8″ (26.8cm x 4.5cm)
- Place the dies at each end of the strip
- Once cut, wrap the strip of cardstock around the card and interlock the two end sections
However, you can also cut out the individual ends, measure a back band and tape the decorative edges to it.
