Christmas Boxmaking

Well, you’ll never guess what I was doing on Christmas morning!!!

Yes, I was up at 7:30 to put the turkey in (I always have a houseful for Christmas), and as you’ll know (if you’ve been reading my other posts) – i’ve endeavored to make all hand-made gifts this year! So i’d managed to make the amaretto truffles, I just hadn’t had chance to make anything to present them in!

So, I got the veg peeled, and come 9am Simon still wasn’t awake, so I snook into my craft room, and got my Ultimate Pro out, and had a rummage through my papers and found a half-used Beatrix Potter Winter’s Tale Cardmaking Kit, which I knew would be perfect, and set to making some presentation boxes!

I used the boxmaker add-on board for my Ultimate Pro so that I knew the finished box llid and base would fit together perfectly, and also it enabled me to make them just the perfect depth for my chocolates.

I used the design on the images of my lid to determine where I would position the apertures and finished the boxes off with a little peel-off. They looked wonderful (and I made 6 in about 40 minutes)

And then I went and woke simon up so we could open our presents. By which time it was after 10am, and we turned on the TV while we were sat by the christmas tree, and who should I find in my living room wishing me  a wonderful Christmas….none other than my lovely Leann and her sidekick Martyn Parker (who I must say, looked particularly grumpy given that it was christmas!!)

So Happy Christmas everyone – I hope you had chance to do a bit of festive crafting on Christmas day like I did! xx
