The depth and dimension that these folders produce make a statement suitable for any occasion. Coupled with the wonderful finish of Centura Pearl cardstock you really can’t fail to impress.
Cut a 1 1/2” strip of Centura Pearl from the full length of an A3 sheet, then score at every cm, do not fold this yet.
Cover the back of your strip with strong double sided tape and cover with the 1 1/2” satin ribbon.
Step 3 & 4
Concertina fold along the whole length and join together with tacky glue. Leave this to dry thoroughly.
Take a scrap of card, approximately 2” square and cover with glue. Taking the edge of the concertina, push towards the centre, this will now fold into a rosette. You can manipulate it and stick it to the card. Here the rose in the middle was made with the same ribbon.
Your card should measure 17 x 21 cm. Position the folder to allow 2.5 cm either side of the embossed design.
Using a craft knife and ruler, trim the top and bottom of your card. The emboss is so deep that this is easily done without the aid of measurements. Then score in 2 cm from either side of your card (Dotted Lines) and burnish. Add red liner tape or strong double sided tape to the back of these flaps (in preparation for step 9).
Carefully cut out the centre cartouche and add colour to any areas you wish to highlight. Here the roses and leaves have been tinted using Embellishment Mousse.
Cut out a backing card measuring 17 x 11.5 cm. Take your embossed card front and secure one side only to your backing card. Now you can use this hinge to secure the rosette behind the aperture perfectly with 3D glue gel before securing the opposite side to form the bowed front.
The card base is an A4 tent fold, the edges are tinted using Victorian Velvet Core’dinations card measuring 19 x 13.5 cm, layer this with tacky glue onto Centura Pearl ‘Hint of Silver’ measuring 19.5 x 14 cm. Then secure this to the base card using Collall 3D glue gel for added depth. Stamp a sentiment and tie a matching ribbon.
Add the bowed element to the card with tacky glue and finish with the sentiment and bow.
Top Tip: You can easily change the look of the card by using different colour ribbon. Maybe try Cream Centura Pearl and cream ribbon for a wonderful wedding card.
Top Tip: Instead of a ribbon Rose, why not use a matching button for another look.
