How to craft Christmas favours

Jazz up your table settings this season by making some fabulous handcrafted Christmas favours!

Simply follow our step-by-step guide to craft the cutest triskele globes, ready to fill with sweets or small treats to delight your guests.

You can build these interlocking spheres from coloured or patterned card but we’ve used the gorgeous Crafter’s Companion Luxury Foiled Acetate Pad! Each sturdy sheet is perfect for building long-lasting Christmas crafts and gifts. And you can choose from gold and silver snowflakes or cosy sprigs of holly.

• Crafter’s Companion Luxury Foiled Acetate Pad – Gold and Silver
• Guillotine
• 2.75” circle die
• Scrap card
• Pencil
• Ruler
• Gemini Midi
• 12mm Red Liner Tape
• Sweets/gifts for centre (optional)

• Cut out a piece of scrap card measuring 9.5” x 2” We will use this as a template.

• Along the long edge draw a line down at 0.5” (this will be a gluing edge). Draw line at every 2.25”. Along the short edge draw a line across at 0.75” and then 1.25”.

• Take a 2.75” circle die and lay it on the template draw round it four times so the top of the circle touches the horizontal lines at the first and third 2.25” line as shown.

• Cut three pieces of acetate 9.5” x 2”. Remove the backing film.

• Lay your template under one strip of acetate. Line up the circle die with the template as shown. Run through a Gemini Midi machine. This will score the acetate and cut through the template.

• Fold and burnish the score lines as shown. We’ve included a white card version to offer a clearer view.

• Repeat this process on the other two acetate strips.

• Take two of the acetate strips, add a strip of 12mm red liner tape and fold round into a ring shape.

• Take one ring and insert it into the other ring making sure the score lines are visible on the outside. (We have used white card example imagery to show the following steps more clearly).

• Take the last acetate strip, insert it on the inside of the ring the ball as shown. This is the best time to pop any sweets or small gifts inside. Don’t over fill the space as it will decrease when we fold the edges in later.

• Using red liner tape attach the last ring in a loop. Rotate this last ring so that the score lines are on the outside.

• Hold opposite sides of one of the rings and pinch the score lines together.

• Do the same on each of the other two rings. The more sides you do the tougher it will, get so take your time and be gentle.
